Overview
As an SAP Analytics Cloud Designer, I have honed my skills in creating interactive, engaging, and impactful visualizations for data-driven insights to deliver compelling and intuitive data visualizations. I excelled in transforming complex data sets into clear and visually appealing charts, graphs, and dashboards, resulting in simple and user-friendly designs.
I specialized in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and worked on Tableau as a data visualization tool. Both tools are widely known and used by a range of small companies to corporations. My job description was based on either creating a new design as a dashboard or improving a previous one by analyzing and design thinking. Being able to work for different companies and departments, sales, accounting, and production, has taught me the key measures each value the most and how to craft compelling data stories that convey meaningful insights to improve myself as much as possible.
During my employment, I gained a deep understanding of data visualization principles, best practices, documentation, and design analysis and utilized the features and functionalities of both tools. In my design process, I prioritized interactivity, simplicity, user-friendliness, and user experience in collaboration with the end users. Given their requests, I tried to visually improve the designs by considering the needs, goals, and expectations of end-users with a simple interaction design. I provided structured narratives, highlights, and filters, drilled down to key findings through my designs, and guided users through data-driven stories.
Design Process
After the data structuring process, I proceeded to the visual design phase in alignment with the company's identity, where color theory, typography, and layout composition were identified. Then, I developed multiple responsive design variations highlighting key insights for stakeholders to choose from.
Data was updated based on further meetings with the stakeholders and their feedback, and the design layouts were refined. During this period, the validity of the real-time data and the run-time, interactivity, and functionality of the visualizations across different devices and screen sizes were tested. Once the project was live, I conducted training to other users on how to benefit from these dashboards as much as they could, providing support and creating a concise documentation file explaining all the design decisions and data sources.
My design process is driven by a meticulous and iterative approach that aims to deliver visually stunning and insightful data visualizations in collaboration with end users. There were two different design processes that only affected the first stage. The design process began with a thorough understanding of the project requirements and the desired outcome by meeting stakeholders. If the project required an update to a previously created design, it was necessary to analyze and document each element in the previous design and its custom coding. These helped to lay a foundation for the final product.
Based on the requirements, I was responsible for the data in the source systems, its structure, and compiling it according to the requested format. This stage involved retrieving data from ERP systems, performing data cleansing and compression, transformation, and aggregation to ensure data accuracy and relevance in real time.
